The Man Utd dressing room has made their feelings on Rasmus Hojlund at Napoli very clear

The Manchester United dressing room has made its feelings clear on Rasmus Hojlund’s electric start to life at Napoli. The Danish striker was cast aside this summer and snapped up by the Serie A champions for £72 million, after Ruben Amorim was handed a trio of costly new forwards in Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko.

Freed from the suffocating pressure of Old Trafford, Hojlund has already looked a different player - scoring on his debut in a 3-1 away win over Fiorentina (watch below). His resurgence mirrors the path of Scott McTominay, who left for Naples last summer and went on to win Serie A’s Most Valuable Player award.

All the while, United continue to wallow in mediocrity. After their worst-ever Premier League finish, Amorim’s first full season has opened with just one win from five games across all competitions. With form stalling, questions are mounting over whether he will even survive until the next international break in October.

How Man United Players Feel About Hojlund's Fast Start at Napoli

Needless to say, the man Amorim once showed so much faith in has already moved on from the rot he left behind in England. And while United fans might feel conflicted watching their former flop flourish abroad, those inside the Old Trafford dressing room have shown nothing but support.

An Instagram post from Hojlund, captioned “First day at the new job didn’t disappoint,” drew warm responses from familiar faces. Harry Maguire replied: “Love it, mate,” while Antony - now playing for Real Betis on a permanent basis - added a string of applause emojis. See his latest Instagram post below:

Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Kobbie Mainoo, Matthijs de Ligt, and even Amorim’s aforementioned summer recruits - Sesko, Cunha, and Mbeumo - were among those dropping likes. For all his struggles in Manchester, Hojlund clearly left behind a lasting impression on his teammates.

Interestingly, it won't be long before Hojlund, still only 22 years old, is back in one of England's rainiest cities. Napoli's next fixture comes in the form of a trip to Manchester City in the Champions League on Thursday night. After Pep Guardiola's side thumped United over the weekend, Hojlund will be hopeful of a better result in midweek.
