Tom Brady allowed to sit in Las Vegas Raiders coaches booth, NFL says

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The NFL says Las Vegas Raiders minority owner Tom Brady can sit in the team's coaches' booth, despite his role as a broadcaster.

Brady was spotted on the ESPN telecast Monday night sitting in the booth with a headset on as the Raiders played the Los Angeles Chargers. ESPN's Peter Schrager said he often works with offensive coordinator Chip Kelly on game plans.

NFL Network reported Tuesday that the league has no policies prohibiting an owner from sitting with coaches or wearing a headset.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion has tested the boundaries of his dual role as a Fox Sports analyst and Raiders limited partner, leading some to question if he could have a conflict of interest, **[including Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio](https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/monday-night-magnified-tom-bradys-conflict-of-interest)**.

In his first season with Fox, Brady could not take part in production meetings with coaches and teams ahead of games he would be calling.

**[The NFL relaxed that rule](https://news3lv.com/news/local/las-vegas-report-raiders-co-owner-tom-brady-allowed-in-nfl-production-meetings#)** coming into this season, allowing him to join meetings remotely, though he is still barred from attending team practices or visiting team facilities.

Raiders coach Pete Carroll told reporters on Tuesday that he believes Brady has been strict about separating his roles.

"He is not planning games with us," Carroll said. "He's not talking to us about anything other than our conversations that we have that are really -- they're random, and they're not set up. They're not structured in any way. And he knows. He's very respectful of what he does otherwise, and he's of the opinion that he doesn't want to be that kind of a factor. And so he's not."
