For Packers receiver Jayden Reed, Week 2 came to a demoralizing end early in the first quarter, when he broke his collarbone in the end zone on a play nullified by offensive holding. Matt LaFleur confirmed the injury postgame and that Reed would miss “significant” time. By addressing the injury in timely fashion, he does at least have a shot to return before season’s end, a hope Packers fans are holding onto as they set their sights on a Super Bowl.
In a prudent move, Reed also addressed his other injury, the foot fracture he dealt with in training camp and played through in Week 1. Although surgery was not initially the plan, already sidelined for the foreseeable future, Reed elected to have an operation on his foot as well. With both procedures complete, he posted his gratitude on social media.
Successful foot & clavicle surgery thank you God 🙏🏾

Fans were there to applaud him for his wise decision, setting him up to return fully healthy for a possible Lombardi run.
Packers fans hopeful that Reed’s medical multi-tasking pays off
Naturally, Packers Twitter exploded when Reed first went down, sharing fears LaFleur solidified with his update. Reed himself later posted a hopeful message, tweeting simply, “I’ll be back.”

The third-year target has a sizable 38.7K Twitter following and is active across social media platforms. Many commenters referenced a recent live stream in which Reed was not quite free from the influence of anesthesia.
Responding to his most recent tweet, fans reiterated well wishes and admired his foresight in having a double procedure done now.
good to get them both done at the same time, smart move

If all goes according to plan, the Packers could have both Reed and Christian Watson back at some point in the second half of the season, boosting the receiver room to full strength.
