New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn has a message for those who are hoping that his rebuild will follow a similar path to that of Dan Quinn and the Washington Commanders - it won't.
With the Jets starting out 0-2, with their 30-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills a rather brutal one at that, some might already be getting a sense of "here we go again" as Glenn's tenure has gotten off to a bad start.
But that shouldn't surprise anyone, should it? Especially after the rabble that the Jets were last season.
Glenn understands that people want results quickly, but he also knows that with what is ahead of him and his team, this won't be an overnight success.
“This is an instant coffee league,” Glenn said. “From the media to the fans, everybody expects when you just start, okay, we're going to the Super Bowl. But we've all played Legos before, and we all know that you have to make sure everything is aligned and you keep stacking it day by day. That's how I look at it. I understand the outside noise, and I'm not affected by outside noise because I know exactly what we're trying to build here.
"I wish it was instant coffee, but it's not. these things take time. We're going to continue to do the things we got to do to build this.”

Jets rebuild won't be for faint-hearted
The Jets won five games last season, so for some, that is the benchmark for Glenn in his first season, just don't be worse than last year.
Is that fair? Depends on who you ask, but what isn't fair is expecting this team with new coordinators and a head coach to be pushing for playoff football, although it would be nice.
But Glenn is determined to build his vision according to his timeline, not others.
Yes, there will be bumps in the road, but that happens when you are trying to break free from the losing mentality this franchise has had for decades.
It won't be a quick fix.
Although an instant coffee hit would be nice.
