The Buffalo Bills will be welcoming a familiar face when the team takes on the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night.

Former Bills cornerback Rasul Douglas will be going up against his former team for the first time and had some great comments about the Bills on Tuesday.

Reporters asked Douglas why he thinks the Bills have been so outstanding over the last few years, and of course, he started with quarterback Josh Allen.

“They got a great quarterback and they do things the right way over there,” Douglas said. “Being in that building, they have a system that tells them how to run things, and everybody follows it.”

Douglas Played Two Years in Buffalo

Douglas was traded to the Bills from the Green Bay Packers during the 2023 season. He recorded 87 combined tackles, one forced fumble, and four interceptions in 24 games with Buffalo.

Douglas was a free agent this offseason, and even though the Bills needed corner help, the team didn’t have any interest in signing him.

It took Douglas a while to sign with Miami, doing it at the end of August, right after the preseason ended.

Josh Allen is Tough For Opposing Teams

While the Dolphins see Allen twice a season, Douglas knows how he plays better than anyone in Miami. Dougals went up against Allen for two years in practice and was asked what he remembers from practicing against Allen. Is there any key he can take into a game against him?

“He’s an MVP, that’s what I remember,” Douglas said. “He’s the best quarterback in the league. He can do it all; he can run, throw – it doesn’t matter.”

Allen has had an impressive start to the season, throwing for 542 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 89 yards and two scores.

The Dolphins’ defense has struggled so far this season, giving up over 30 points in their first two games.

Miami giving up 30 points in back-to-back games might not seem like a big deal, but they did it against quarterback Daniel Jones, who was released by the New York Giants last season, and second-year quarterback Drake Maye.

There’s a chance Allen has a career night against the Dolphins with how their defense has been playing.

The Bills Can Pull Way in The AFC

If the Bills can pull off the Week 3 win, then they will be in a great position to win the AFC East. Buffalo knocked off the New York Jets last week, and a win over Miami would put them 2-0 in the division.

The Bills’ main goal is not just to win the division, but also to finish No. 1 in the AFC so they can have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Buffalo has already taken a first step toward reaching that goal by beating the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, a team that might be the second-best in the AFC. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs are off to a 0-2 start.

The Bills will take on the New Orleans Saints after playing Miami, which could be a promising pathway to going 4-0.
