Manchester United could be about to be given an opportunity to sign Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo.

United have a busy summer transfer window with five new signings, three of whom have strengthened the forward line at Old Trafford. Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko all joined, with deals for Senne Lammens and Diego Leon also completed.

Ruben Amorim's side have won just one of their opening four Premier League fixtures so far this season. That form, combined with second-round exit from the Carabao Cup, has led to speculation around Amorim's future at United.

The Mirror have reported that five candidates are being linked with replacing Amorim as United boss should a change be made. It has been speculated that Amorim's future will be judged after the next three matches against Chelsea, Brentford and Sunderland.

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has been mentioned in the report as a potential candidate to replace Amorim should the United hierarchy decide a change is necessary. The report also names Oliver Glasner of Crystal Palace, Marco Silva of Fulham, former England boss Gareth Southgate and United States head coach Mauricio Pochettino as potential successors to Amorim.

If Iraola is appointed, it could boost United's chances of signing Semenyo either in January or next summer. The Bournemouth star has been heavily linked with a move away from the Cherries for several months, with Tottenham Hotspur also mentioned as a potential destination.

The CIES Football Observatory have provided Semenyo's current value in the market as things stand. The Bournemouth star is said to be worth between €63million (£55million) and €73million (£64million) in the current market.

While talk of United signing Semenyo and appointing Iraola as manager is a bit early, to say the least, it would not be a surprise to see interest in the forward intensify if a change of head coach is made, especially if that change saw Iraola swap the Vitality Stadium for Old Trafford.
