Liverpool boss Arne Slot faces a tough decision as he prepares his squad for their first Champions League game of the season, with Milos Kerkez's performance against Burnley giving him much to think about. Some fans in the Liverpool Echo comments section believe it's time to restore Andy Robertson to the starting line-up.

£40m newcomer Kerkez has been Slot's choice to start at left-back so far this season, arriving off the back of an impressive campaign with Bournemouth. The club see him as the successor to 31-year-old vice-captain Robertson, who is in the final year of his contract at Liverpool.

Kerkez's grip on the position will be less secure after being cautioned for diving in the Burnley box on Sunday, leading to him being brutally withdrawn before half-time. He's not had the easiest start to life at Liverpool, and Slot could decide to slow down his integration into the squad in favour of starting the reliable Robertson against Atletico Madrid.

Speaking during the international break, Robertson was eager to get onto the field more: "I’m sure there will be a bit more rotation. Whether it happens in my position is yet to be seen, none of us can look into the future. But I believe I’ve done everything I can to be in the manager’s thoughts and that’s all I can do."

Some fans say it's time to hand the baton back to Robertson, at least for now. Reader Kingscouse says: "For an already proven Premier League player, Kerkez has been far from great so far, especially considering the £40 million cost! After correctly getting subbed for that poor diving yellow, it's time to bench him and let Robbo start until Kerky gets his act together in training and cup games.

"Thought Robbo looked good out there. Besides, what's the point of keeping your assistant Captain on the bench every game?"

Commenter Cyclingcylon writes: "Still cannot get my head round why Arne hasn't been starting Robbo, then bringing Kerkez on. So far, he's been thrown in the deep end and looks like he cannot swim!"

RedJock says: "Kerkez is trying too hard. He realises he is playing for a top team. Robbo is proving what a top professional he is."

Banthebbc writes: "I really don't think this Kerkez is a top-four player... we need to start Robbo and see how he does over 60 minutes. Great show of strength from Arne to remove him."

Others say that Slot should continue to put faith in Kerkez. Klopps Disciple says: "Kerkez needs time to gel, how do new players get to do that without playing?"

Joby writes: "Got no problems with Kerkez, who actually made the Premier League team of the season last year and that requires a lot of great performances. He's 21-years-old, and we could have Milos for the next 12 years, so lets get behind the kid and give him our support."

Darwinism says: "It's not Kerkez vs Robbo, it's Kerkez and Robbo. Having both makes us stronger. Kerkez will be great, he just needs to fine tune a couple of things."
