Thierry Henry shares if he thinks Man City can win the Premier League ahead of Arsenal or…

Thierry Henry has given his two cents on whether Manchester City can win the Premier League title this season.

The Frenchman worked under Pep Guardiola and he will be well aware of the fact that his former manager is an expert at winning league titles.

So much so that the Manchester City boss has never gone two seasons in a row without winning a title, which is an especially impressive record considering his managerial career began in 2008. Pep Guardiola is motivated this season and after masterminding City’s 3-0 win against Manchester United, he must have a spring in his step.

With the latest addition of a winner like Gianluigi Donnarumma, who is already impressing Erling Haaland, the Sky Blues could remind the world why they remain the most dominant side in Premier League history.

Thierry Henry had a brief say on Manchester City as he was discussing the title race on CBS Sports.

Thierry Henry says ‘you can’t write off’ Man City in the title race

Henry initially drove home the point that Arsenal have to bring home a trophy this season.

The World Cup winner believes that his former club and Liverpool look like the favourites to win the title.

However, Thierry Henry reckons one cannot write Manchester City off in the pursuit of Premier League glory yet.

“It’s a must this year to win something. It’s a must.”

“You can’t hide, whatever it is, you must bring something and I know people will talk about the title, I do think it’s going to be a battle between Liverpool and Arsenal. You can’t write off Man City yet, they’re trying some new things with new players.”

Pep Lijnders could make a tweak that wins Man City the Premier League this season

As Thierry Henry claimed, it is too early to claim that Manchester City are out of the title race.

However, it goes without saying that despite City’s emphatic win against Manchester United, they still look far too vulnerable defensively.

One way in which Pep Lijnders could play a pivotal role in boosting Manchester City’s chances of winning the league is by tightening up their press.

Against United as well, City looked far too easy to play through from central areas in particular. Pep Guardiola admires Lijnders and one of the reasons behind the Dutchman’s appointment would have been that he helped turn Liverpool into one of the best pressing sides in Europe.

While it takes time to implement a successful pressing system, Lijnders must impact proceedings as quickly as possible.
