Even after the end of the 2025 summer transfer window, the FC Barcelona Sporting Department remains busy as it is now working on several operations to ensure the long-term continuity of some of its important players.

Negotiations have been going on with Frenkie de Jong for quite a while, and now, the defender Eric Garcia also appears to be another player on whose renewal the Blaugrana club is working.

The Spaniard’s contract is set to expire next year, but negotiations over his renewal appear to be progressing well. The player also recently confirmed that talks have begun.

In fact, according to Mundo Deportivo, there was a meeting between his agent, Ivan de la Pena, and the Barcelona Sporting Director, Deco, on Monday.

In this meeting, the two parties discussed the terms of a new contract to keep the player and the club associated for the future.

Over time, Garcia has made himself an important part of Hansi Flick’s team, and since the start of this new season, he has played in every game. Thanks to his versatility, he played as a right-back in the first two games before returning to the center-back position for the next two.

Now, talks between Barcelona and his agent are expected to continue, and hopefully, they will reach a fruitful end soon to ensure Eric Garcia remains a part of the Blaugrana team for years to come.
