September 18 – There are a thousand ways to lose your job – showing up late, spilling beer on the boss, or accidentally forwarding inappropriate memes to HR. But on Sunday at the Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium, one employee took it to the next level by wearing a Manchester United shirt while serving drinks to the City faithful.

A United Red Devil crest, showing its colours in enemy territory, as the barman calmly poured pints for thirsty Citizens.

The scandal broke on X when a sharp-eyed supporter posted a picture of the crime scene with the caption: “Absolute joke @ManCity – letting one of the bar staff in block 315 wear a United shirt on Derby Day #mcfc.”

It didn’t take long for City’s fan support account to respond: “Thank you for making us aware of this. We can confirm that this individual has now been removed from their position.”

Justice as swift as one of Pep’s lightning counter-attacks. One minute you’re pulling pints for the punters, the next you’re pulling your CV out of the drawer.

For the record, City didn’t just win the PR battle – they won the actual football match too, with a commanding performance, sending United fans reaching for pints of their own.
