Nick Woltemade wasted no time making an impact for Newcastle United, and now he’s given fans an insight into the type of player he is, which he believes is comparable to Harry Kane.
Woltemade joined Newcastle for £65million during the summer transfer window, and he scored during his debut for the club as the Magpies defeated Wolves 1-0 in their first win of the season.
After Alexander Isak’s departure to Liverpool, Woltemade is under immediate pressure, as Eddie Howe needs a new talisman at the top of the pitch.

The expectation on their new forward was only intensified by Yoane Wissa’s injury, but the Germany international has proven he can deal with that so far.

Nick Woltemade compares himself to Harry Kane
Woltemade is still a relatively new name to the Toon Army, and supporters will only get used to him the more they see him on the pitch.
However, the 23-year-old has spoken to the Premier League Podcast to give people an idea of his playing style and what they should expect from him on the pitch.
“Yeah, this could be a difficult question. There aren’t too many 6’6” strikers, or even players in general, and most of them are centre-backs or other positions. So it’s hard.
“I’d say a bit of Kane, a bit of Havertz, maybe a bit of Ibrahimovic. I don’t know… it’s hard to say.
“I mean, it’s really interesting because maybe people who haven’t watched me before might have a misconception due to my height.
“They might think I’m just a target man, good in the air, but I’m also very skilful with my feet, with lots of technique. That’s my playing style.
“It’s difficult to put into words. I don’t want to say I’m the only guy who plays like this, but it’s definitely rare. Maybe the fans have an idea, I don’t know.”
Whether he can go on and have a career like Kane or Ibrahimovic will remain to be seen, but Ben Foster has already compared Woltemade to Thomas Muller.
Nick Woltemade believes his dribbling ability is one of his ‘best qualities’
Given Woltemade’s height, most football fans would naturally associate him with being someone good in the air and will look to be a target man.

While he scored his first Newcastle goal with a header, Woltemade believes his real strength lies with the ball at his feet, as he was asked if his dribbling technique has always been an asset.
“Yeah, I think it’s one of my best qualities. My parents had really good technique with the ball, and they passed that on to me. I also started playing at a young age in the youth academy, so that helped a lot.
“My technique has always been strong. If you see me, you might not expect it because of my height, but I can move really well with the ball.”
