If there is one thing Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio has been consistent with, it's being blunt about his players' performances on the field.
One guy that has been on his radar in the not-best way has been veteran cornerback Adoree' Jackson. Before the season, Fangio stated that Jackson was general manager Howie Roseman's signing and challenged the corner to prove the Titans and Giants wrong.
Jackson's first game as an Eagle did not go well, as he allowed five catches for over 100 yards, and all five catches converted into first downs. Fangio was not the most complimentary of Jackson despite sticking with him to be the starting CB2.
In the Eagles' 20-17 win over the Chiefs, it was a different story for Jackson - a much better one for the fan base and for Fangio.
Fangio complimented Jackson on his Week 2 performance
While speaking with the media on Tuesday, Fangio gave credit to Jackson for responding well and improving his play against the Chiefs.
“I thought he was improved. I thought he did some good things…hopefully it can kickstart him into being a good corner for us.”

To put into perspective the significant improvement Jackson made from Week 1 to Week 2, he had a Pro Football Focus overall grade of 33.6 against the Cowboys. When the Eagles faced the Chiefs, that grade improved to 58.6.
His stat line against the Chiefs won't be impressive, but he did have one tackle and one pass deflection. The eye test showed that while receptions were still being had, Jackson definitely made them tougher with tight coverage.
All the noise of replacing Jackson with someone like Jakorian Bennett or another player outside of the roster appears to have calmed down for one week. Fangio doesn't pay compliments out often, so that was an important one for Jackson to collect.

The season will only get tougher for Jackson as he has to go up against the 2-0 Los Angeles Rams, which has Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. This will be an actual test of Jackson's progression throughout the season.
