This season marks the fourth year of the partnership between FC Barcelona and Spotify – one that has proven to be a great success, leaving all parties involved very happy.
However, this also happens to be the final year of the original agreement in which the streaming platform’s logo appears on the men’s and women’s first-team shirts.
Renewal talks underway
However, according to Adria Soldevila on Que t’hi Jugues, talks are underway between both parties to extend the sponsorship agreement further.
Indeed, Spotify has already informed Barcelona of its intention to extend the sponsorship for a further four seasons, covering 2026/27 through to 2029/30.
The company was contractually obliged to notify the club before 1 July, and it did so in due time. Talks are now taking place for them to execute the renewal option signed back in 2022.
From €57.5 million to €65 million a year
Over the past four years, Spotify has been paying €57.5 million annually for the front-of-shirt sponsorship, plus an additional €5 million for branding on the training kit.

The latter arrangement expired on 30 June, though the logo still appears on the team’s training wear.
The contract includes a renewal clause guaranteeing Barça €65 million per season for the match shirt alone – meaning a total of €260 million for the four years being proposed.
There is also scope to expand the deal to cover the training kit once again: €10 million for the front, and €5 million for the back (currently held by Congo).
Whether those exact figures are applied remains to be seen. Barcelona believe their shirt has grown in value thanks to the rise of Lamine Yamal and the team’s status as contenders for all major titles.
From the club’s perspective, the sponsorship is worth more than the pre-agreed €65 million. However, the contract stipulates that Spotify retains the option to renew under those terms.
