September 17 – Manchester United have signed an extension to their deal with SportsBreaks, which will see it grow its four-year relationship as official travel partner for seasons to come.
The exact length and value of the updated terms remain under wraps, but the deal will see SportsBreaks continue to offer official match breaks to all of Man Utd’s home Premier League and cup fixtures.
Meanwhile, inspiresport – a sister business to SportsBreaks as part of the global travel group Destination Sport Group – will continue to offer youth football clubs, high schools, and colleges trips to Manchester via its Next Generation International brand. These tours include ‘world-class coaching’ at Man Utd facilities including Carrington, the club’s primary training complex. After a 3-0 loss to City on Sunday, fans will be wishing the first team got the same treatment.
The club has said that its partnership with inspiresport (Next Generation International) will continue to have strong focus on inbound tours from North America – a clear focus of United’s strategy to extend its fan base across the pond.
SportsBreaks managing director Mark Kelly commented: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Man Utd, providing the club’s fanbase with a trustworthy, hassle-free way of watching their team at Old Trafford.
“Over the past four years we’ve been privileged to facilitate trips for thousands of Man Utd fans and take great pride in ensuring these are truly memorable experiences, whether it’s a fan’s first or 100th time at the Theatre of Dreams.”
Marc Armstrong, Chief Business Officer at Manchester United, said: “We are pleased to extend our partnership with SportsBreaks, a trusted partner that has played an important role in helping our supporters from around the world experience Old Trafford.
Off the back of a difficult trip across Manchester on Sunday – where Ruben Amorim’s side were comfortably beaten 3-0 by their neighbours – the Red Devils host Chelsea at Old Trafford this weekend in a bid to get back to winning ways.
