NEW YORK (WLBT) - A Flora native and former Southern Miss linebacker has been signed to the New York Giants’ active roster.
On Tuesday, the Giants announced that Swayze Bozeman was signed as a free agent from the organization’s practice squad.
Bozeman spent last season with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted rookie. He played in the Chiefs’ final six games, including all three in the postseason, and in Super Bowl LIX.
While at USM from 2019 to 2023, Bozeman recorded 168 total tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks.
Former Southern Miss linebackers have a history of doing well with the Giants, with former Golden Eagle Michael Boley enjoying a four-year stint as the starting middle linebacker in New York and winning a Super Bowl with the organization.
