Wolverhampton Wanderers may be given a second shot at Lazio goalkeeper Christos Mandas in the January transfer window after missing out in the summer.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who report that a sale in January would secure Lazio a large capital gain and greater manoeuvrability in the window itself.
They explain that Mandas has been competing with Ivan Provedel for the number one shirt for some time but as yet hasn’t been able to change the hierarchy. He’s performed well when given the starting spot, but not enough to oust his competitor.
He’s very much the back up and that could lead to a sale. Wolves offered a deal in the summer, putting €29m on the table but Lazio blocked this, and it never happened.
Now they are looking at the January transfer window, where selling the 23-year-old would allow them to secure a big profit on a player who cost them €1.3m in 2023. Whether Wolves are willing to move again isn’t mentioned, but the idea is there.
They’ve been after Mandas for two years, with it explained as much earlier this month. It was also stated then that eyes were now on January and a potential return from Wolves.
