Palace Loanees Go World Wide

With Crystal Palace’s academy going from strength to strength after years of investment, fans are starting to see the fruits of the club’s category 1 status with a number of players hoping to make an impact in the English football league pyramid or overseas in Europe. At Vavel we will be catching up on how these players are doing each week, monitoring the progress of players who could potentially be stars at Selhurst Park in the future:

Jesuran Rak-Sakyi (Çaykur Rizespor)

Rak-Sakyi was the subject to a lot of speculation over the summer being linked with a variety of clubs including Rangers and Southampton. Somewhat surprisingly the talented winger has ended up at Rizespor who finished 9th in the Turkish top division last year.

David Ozoh re-signed with Derby on loan after his time there last season was cut short due to injury. Ozoh has had a stop-start return back at Pride Park as he has started two games and had two other substitute appearances. But the Rams most recent game he was an unused sub in their win over West Brom.

Owen Goodman (Huddersfield)

After helping getting AFC Wimbledon promoted to League One, Goodman will be hoping he can take Huddersfield to the Championship this time around. Goodman’s start to the season has been a rollercoaster for the Terriers with some great performances mixed in with some errors. This was typified by the young keeper receiving a straight red in Huddersfield’s 3-1 defeat to Barnsley ,for a shocking tackle on David Mcgoldrick, when he came flying out of his box.

Danny Imray (Blackpool)

Imray who impressed in League Two last season at Bromley, was rewarded with a move to the league above in League One Blackpool. The right wing back has started the last two games for the Tangerines and will be looking to continue his good run of form on from last season.

Joe Whitworth (Exeter City)

Whitworth became a cult figure with the Grecians last season so it made sense for the talented keeper to return to the south-west. The 21 year-old shot stopper has played all 8 of Exeter’s league games so far this season keeping two clean sheets in that period.

Tayo Adaramola (Leyton Orient)

The young left back finished last season in brilliant form with Bradford and has now moved to East London to play for the Os. He has started Orient’s first six matches this season but was an used substitute last time out.

Hindolo Mustapha (FC Nuremberg)

The Eagles most exciting academy prospect is heading to Europe joining Nuremberg in the second tier of German football. The Sierra Leone senior international picked up an injury with Palace in pre-season but is nearing a return and will be hoping to get his new side away from the bottom of 2. Bundesliga.

Matheus Franca (Vasco de Gama)

The tricky Brazilian got a return to his homeland at the end of the summer window with a hope of getting some valuable game time. Franca has made two substitute appearances so far, with the standout being in the Cup scoring a penalty to knock out the John Textor owned Botafogo.
