Making his Champions League debut alongside Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven and Djed Spence, the 19-year-old was at his industrious best once again, hustling and bustling as he continued in the number 10 role.
Having felt the emotion of walking out to the iconic Champions League anthem for the first time - [something he had dreamed of since being a young boy](https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/2025/september/lucas-bergvall-on-the-uefa-champions-league-this-has-been-my-dream-since-i-was-a-little-boy/) - it didn't take long for the midfielder to make his mark on European footballs biggest stage.
Just four minutes into the game, he made a surging run down the right flank before crossing into the area. His pass was met by goalkeeper Luis Junior but the shot stopped couldn't quite get a grip of the ball and allowed it to spill from his grasp and over the line, prompting pandemonium inside Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
It was an early goal we were well aware we were going to need if we were to overcame a well disciplined, organised and rather stubborn Villarreal side - and so it proved to be the decisive goal come the full-time whistle!
Of course, Lucas was aware he couldn't take all the plaudits for the goal, given the unique nature of it, but he still took his moment to have, as he described to us post-match, a 'half' celebration...
