Jadon Sancho breaks silence with honest message to Aston Villa fans after debut in Brentford defeat

Aston Villa loanee Jadon Sancho has taken to social media with an honest message for the fanbase following his disappointing debut in the Carabao Cup loss to Brentford.

Aston Villa signed Sancho on loan from Manchester United on transfer deadline day and, following the international break, he was handed his debut on the left flank.

However, Sancho flattered to deceive in his first competitive outing since the Europa Conference League final in May, as he looked short of match fitness.

Why Aston Villa fans should not despair about Jadon Sancho debut

Admittedly, though Sancho was poor on his debut, he still showed glimpses of his abilities to get away from pressure, and it’s clear to see he has great technique.

Considering Sancho has not played competitively since May, he will obviously be short on match fitness, but he should get up to speed in the coming weeks.

Sancho’s last outing prior to the Brentford game was a superb goalscoring cameo for Chelsea against Real Betis in the Europa Conference League.

The quality is there, so it’s just a matter of him getting up to speed under one of the best man-managers in the business.

Unai Emery is an experienced coach who has been there, done that and got the T-shirt when it comes to poor runs of form, getting the best out of players, and so on.

Villa are well-placed to pick up form in the coming weeks, and then hopefully this poor start to the season will be forgotten soon enough.
