Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe issues official Yoane Wissa injury update.
Wissa, a £55million deadline day signing from Brentford, is yet to make his debut for the Magpies after sustaining a knee injury on international duty with the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The 29-year-old returned to Tyneside last Thursday and in the days after was sent for a scan to determine the severity of his injury.
He missed Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers. After the game, Howe was unable to provide an update.
But speaking ahead of Thursday’s Champions League opener against Barcelona, Howe has revealed Wissa will be missing for the next six games.
As well as Barcelona, Wissa will miss another Champions League match away to Union SG, plus Premier League matches against AFC Bournemouth, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest, and the Carabao Cup second round tie versus Bradford City.

Howe said: “Yoane will, we hope, be back after the next international break, so that's the plan. That can always change, it's always flexible, but I think that's what I've been told.”
Club-record signing Nick Woltemade is set to lead the line once again after scoring on his debut against Wolves at the weekend.

Anthony Gordon, who started the opening two games of the season as an emergency striker due to Alexander Isak being on strike, is also eligible as his Premier League red card doesn’t carry over to the Champions League.
Gordon was given a three-match domestic ban for a late challenge on Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk. After sitting out against Leeds United and Wolves, the 24-year-old will serve the final match of his game when United visit AFC Bournemouth on Sunday.
Newcastle United without another five senior players
In addition to Wissa, the Magpies are also without Jacob Ramsey, who, like his fellow new signing, is sidelined until next month due to an ankle problem.
Meanwhile, Jamaal Lascelles, Harrison Ashby, Mark Gillespie and John Ruddy are ineligible after they weren’t named in Newcastle’s 21-man Champions League squad.
