Tottenham starlet Lucas Bergvall is fresh off the back of two match-winning performances, and the sky appears to be the limit.
The 19-year-old, signed from Djurgardens for just £8.5 million in February 2024, is proving to be one of ex-chairman Daniel Levy's biggest bargain buys of the decade so far.
Lucas Bergvall celebrates for Tottenham
Bergvall played his way into becoming a regular under Ange Postecoglou with a string of fine performances in 2024/2025, playing nearly every game en route to the Europa League final before an ankle injury ruled him out of the semis and final in Bilbao.
The teenage sensation made a total of 45 appearances last term, and it was a sign of things to come.
Thomas Frank has immediately taken to Bergvall, who scored his first ever Premier League goal in a 3-0 win over West Ham last weekend, before putting in a Man of the Match display as Spurs saw off Villarreal in their Champions League opener on Tuesday.
Bergvall has been awarded two Player of the Match awards in the space of a few days, and he's been praised as Spurs' next potential superstar with the midfielder's stock continuing to rise.
He was also named Premier League player of the week on Tuesday, leaving former suitors Barcelona ruing after they came so close to a deal for the Swede.
How Barcelona feel about Lucas Bergvall now after Tottenham hijacked deal
The Catalans were on the verge of signing him before Tottenham swooped in, agreeing personal terms and a transfer fee of around £13 million with Djurgardens.

That is according to Spanish news outlet AS, who report that Dejan Kulusevski and a Spurs delegate played a major role in convincing Bergvall to make the move to north London instead.
After his fine start to the season, AS also report that Barcelona are still disappointed after missing out on Bergvall, especially after everything suggested he 'packed his bags' and was ready to make a Camp Nou switch.
Barcelona right to be gutted as Bergvall shines for Tottenham
The Scandinavian talent's ceiling appears ridiculous given just how quickly he's taken to life in Europe's most physical, competitive division. Bergvall appears to be worth every penny of the £8.5m paid to Djurgardens right now, and the feeling is that he's only going to get better.
Speaking after their 3-0 win over West Ham, Frank made no secret of the plan to utilise Bergvall as a goalscoring midfielder.
"Yes. First and foremost I think his performance was good today," Frank said.
"I really like his energy, his pressing skill, his enthusiasm. I think he drags the team with him, in a kind of way. And there's so much he can learn and improve. So I think that's promising as well. Fantastic goal. Well-timed run. Top ball from Romero. And a well-executed header."
Bergvall brings a rare mix of youth, technical skill and tactical intelligence.
If he continues developing with minutes under his belt and avoids major injury setbacks, he has the potential not just to be a regular key player for Spurs, but one of the best young midfielders in the Premier League, if he isn't already.
