Luke Littler admitted it’s going to be ‘very tough’ for his beloved Manchester United under Ruben Amorim.

‘The Nuke’ has shot to fame during the worst United team in recent history, at least giving something for fans to cheer about. Littler has been vocal about how United can return to the glory days, but has also used their struggles as motivation.

Despite a boardroom boost off the pitch, with the club announcing record revenues of £666.5million over the past year, Amorim and his players are yet to benefit. A damning 3-0 defeat to neighbours Manchester City on Sunday proved to be the latest low.

Speaking to the Daily Star Sport at the world-leading darts manufacturer Target pop up shop in Manchester, Littler was reluctantly asked about the performance of his beloved United.

But the world champion insisted that Amorim needs time despite not oozing confidence that the Reds will have a successful season – acknowledging that just getting back into any European competition will be a step forward.

Littler said: “Well, obviously looking back on it I thought we could get a result. Obviously not. But it’s United. Obviously people are saying ‘Amorim out’ but you’ve got to look at the players.

"Some of them don’t fit the system, I don’t think. I think it’s going to be very tough but as long as we get into the top-eight Conference League, that’s what I’m hoping for.”

Under the co-ownership of the Glazer family and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the club announced financial results today for the 2025 fiscal fourth quarter and 12 months ending June 30, 2025.
