Mark Robson will be at Newcastle's first Champions League match of the season at St James' Park on Thursday. His dad Sir Bobby died aged of 76 in 2009.
"Dad's legacy keeps going on and on and on," he said. "His attachment and love for both of the clubs [Newcastle and Barcelona] was great."
The former Newcastle manager spent ten years in Europe managing PSV Eindoven, Barcelona and Porto. Eddie Howe's side will face two 'Sir Bobby derbies' in the Champions League as they face PSV Eindhoven in January.
"It will add to the atmosphere," Mark suggested, "And it will make for wonderful evenings."
"Dad had 10 years in Europe managing PSV, Barcelona and Porto and we are all still talking about what he did," he added, also pointing at the news that the most famous student of Sir Bobby, Jose Mourinho, was in line to take over Portuguese club Benfica - who are also set to travel to Tyneside to play Newcastle this season.

Off the pitch, Sir Bobby's legacy of a cancer research foundation is looking forward to one of its biggest years in recent memory. Having just announced a £30m treatment centre, The Bobby Robson Institute, the charity confirmed 128 people ran to support it at the Great North Run.
"The foundation is still going strong," Mark said. "For communities to still be supporting Dad by fundraising is great.
"To do it so long after Dad passed is a testament to what people thought of him and his career."

The last time Newcastle hosted Barcelona, Sir Bobby was in the dugout.
Now, when Barcelona fans filter up the flights of stairs at St James' Park to the away end, most - if not all - will have passed by Sir Bobby's statue on the way to their turnstiles.
"The team Dad had at Barcelona had Ronaldo, Pep Guardiola, Luis Figo," Mark said.
"It was an astonishing team that people still get special memories from 30 years later."

And special is a word that the Robson family is fully embracing too. When asked to predict the game, Mark just said it would be a "magical night".
