Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has described a player Manchester United offloaded this summer as “very dangerous”.
Manchester United moved a multitude of players on over the summer as Ruben Amorim sought to overhaul a squad that endured a nightmare 2024/25 campaign.
The likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Andre Onana have all left Old Trafford, either permanently or on loan.

Gianluigi Donnarumma hails ‘very dangerous’ Rasmus Hojlund
Man City are in action against Napoli in the Champions League on Thursday evening, and they will face a number of players they’re familiar with.
Kevin De Bruyne will return to the Etihad Stadium just a few months after leaving, while Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund will also be familiar to City.
And Donnarumma, speaking to the Italian press, explained how both Napoli players with the Man United connection will be troublesome for City.
“One of the most dangerous is definitely McTominay, and then there’s Hojlund, who I know very well and is very dangerous,” Donnarumma told Calcionapoli24.

Players who excelled after leaving Manchester United
Man United fans have been despairing upon seeing Hojlund start so well for Napoli, considering how much Hojlund struggled at Old Trafford.
United supporters had to wait 1,027 minutes for Hojlund to finally notch his first Premier League goal on Boxing Day 2023, and he was never truly prolific for them.
However, following his loan move to Napoli with an obligation to buy, Hojlund netted 14 minutes into his debut in Saturday’s Serie A trip to Fiorentina.
Then there’s McTominay, who was seen as a solid enough player at Man United, but he has now etched his name in Napoli folklore and was last season’s Serie A MVP.
Other players whose careers have exploded after leaving Man United in recent years include Angel Di Maria, Matteo Darmian, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Anthony Elanga.
Di Maria shone for Paris Saint-Germain, while Darmian and Mkhitaryan reached two Champions League finals with Inter Milan.
As for Elanga, he thrived at Nottingham Forest, earning himself a move to Newcastle United this summer.
