San Francisco 49ers fans in the Tri-Valley can look to the rails for rides to and from home games at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, as the Altamont Corridor Express is bringing back its special train service to increase public transit options for the NFL season.
For each of the Niners’ eight home games during the 2025-26 regular season, the San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission – which operates the ACE commuter train on weekdays – will offer a single train departing from Stockton before the game and another train headed back east from the stadium afterward.
“ACE provides vital connections between Central Valley communities and the Bay Area, not just for daily commuters, but for unforgettable experiences like 49ers games,” said Ahdel Ahmed, public relations manager for SJRRC. “Our special event trains offer fans a safe, comfortable, and community-driven way to travel.”
The special service kicks off this Sunday morning with the westward train leaving the Stockton station at 9:15 a.m., as the 49ers host the Arizona Cardinals at 1:25 p.m. in a clash of 2-0 teams. There will be parties at the Stockton, Lathrop/Manteca and Tracy stations hosted by the local chambers of commerce that morning to celebrate the start of the season.
The train will then stop at the Vasco Road, Livermore, Pleasanton and Fremont stations before arriving at Great America near Levi’s Stadium at about 11:08 a.m. – and then continuing on the normal route all the way to San Jose. The train home is set to exit the stadium at around 5:09 p.m.
Individual tickets are available now online or via the ACE Rail Tickets app, along with a special season pass for all eight home games at a 15% discount good until this Sunday. Learn more at acerail.com/event-train.
