Jayson Tatum Surprisingly Earns Gift From Patriots’ AFC East Rival

For much of the offseason, Boston Celtics’ superstar forward Jayson Tatum has been busy working his way back from a torn Achilles tendon he suffered during the 2025 NBA Playoffs. When he isn’t rehabbing his injury, though, he has found several different ways to keep busy.

While Tatum can’t play basketball currently, that hasn’t stopped him from being this active this offseason. Whether it’s attending different events, such as New England Patriots training camp or his longtime friend Bradley Beal’s wedding, or partaking in local community events, Tatum has been all over the place lately.

That continued over the weekend, as Tatum decided to take in some NFL action. He wasn’t watching the local Patriots pick up a thrilling 33-27 victory over the Miami Dolphins, though. In fact, he was actually watching their most hated rival.

The team would be the New York Jets, of course, who are Tatum’s favorite team in the NFL. Tatum attended the team’s home-opener against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, and he even received his own custom jersey from the team.

Learning that Tatum is a Jets fan has likely crushed many folks in Boston, but considering how he led the C’s to victory in the 2024 NBA Finals, it’s safe to say he’s done a lot to help make those fans happy in recent years.

Beyond that, the Jets got crushed by the Bills in Week 2, suffering a 30-10 defeat at the hands of the AFC East leader. While Tatum is preparing to watch the Celtics get ready for the new season as he keeps rehabbing, the Patriots will be back in action on Sunday when they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
