Former New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is now heading up the Indianapolis Colts, and he's all the talk.

The New York Giants are struggling at the start of their 2025-26 season, and even with a solid performance from veteran quarterback Russell Wilson in the team’s matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, Giants stumbled in overtime, 40-37. But, it’s early in the season, so don’t get too down on that first two losses.

Meanwhile, former Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is on the field for the Indianapolis Colts. While the narrative when Jones left the Giants was that he was the problem, his time with the Colts is already showing that, perhaps, he was the scapegoat and wasn’t really the problem.

Those in the NFL are talking about Jones and his early success with the Colts, and many of them are saying the same thing. They’re noting that Jones is proving the Giants doubters wrong and showing that he’s a quality quarterback, so long as he’s put in the right situation.

Former New York Giants Quarterback Daniel Jones’ New Gig

Jones is already shining with his new team. In a Monday, September 15 feature for Horseshoe Heroes, Finnegan Twomey says that “it took Colts’ Daniel Jones two games to prove the Giants were wrong about him.”

In the piece, he notes that when “Jones put together one of the most efficient games in NFL history against the Miami Dolphins in Week 1, Colts fans were cautiously optimistic.” Then, Week 2 came, and he even delivered then.

Jones wrapped up “the victory with a stat line of 316 yards on 23/34 passing attempts, throwing one touchdown and no interceptions,” Twomey goes on to say. “In fact, it was Jones’ first 300-yard passing game since 2023, back when he was a New York Giant. Even more, Jones totaled the highest passing yard total through one half in his career in the first half of the game.”

So, that’s some pie in the face to the Giants. But, we should be happy for Jones’ success.

Indianapolis Colts’ Daniel Jones is ‘America’s Quarterback’

In a separate feature, this one from Sam Fariss of Ball Durham, Jones is even called “America’s quarterback.” In the feature, out on Monday, September 15, Durham says that “Over the last two weeks, Jones has undeniably silenced his doubters, completing nearly 72 percent of his pass attempts for a resounding 616 yards and two touchdowns through the air.” He adds that “the quarterback who everyone laughed at when he ran the ball in New York has also rushed for 28 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.”

“Jones’ QBR is at a career high of 80.9,” he adds, “and his overall passer rating has skyrocketed to 111.1, which is the sixth best in the entire league.”

Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. also said of Jones after their Week 2 win, “I think he’s proven everybody wrong.”

The Colts are up against the Tennessee Titans in Week 3, so it will be another chance for Jones and the Colts to pull off a win. The Titans, of course, aren’t the best team in the NFL, so Jones is being given a real opportunity to, once again, show his stuff.
