Chelsea are reportedly keeping an eye on Morgan Rogers as he’s yet to hold talks over a new contract with Aston Villa.
Rogers is one of Chelsea’s top transfer targets for 2026 as they eye a number of top young attacking midfielders.
The England international has also been on the radar of Arsenal and Tottenham, and now the Sun have an update on Chelsea’s interest.
It was only last November that Rogers extended his Villa deal until 2030, so perhaps there’s no major hurry for them to enter into talks over another extension.
Still, Chelsea are monitoring the situation and are described as being ‘very keen’ to sign the 23-year-old.

It’s been very clear that this Chelsea ownership is prepared to invest huge sums of money in the world’s best young players, as they did again this summer.
As reported for the Daily Briefing, Chelsea wanted Xavi Simons alongside their other deals for Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho in attack, but that was one deal they missed out on as the Netherlands international ended up joining Tottenham instead.
Rogers makes sense as an ideal alternative to Simons, and one imagines he could be a perfect fit in Enzo Maresca’s side.
What’s going on with Morgan Rogers’ contract?
The Sun’s report suggests one issue for Villa could be the pressure to give Rogers a pay rise as a reward for his fantastic form.
Still, it’s not been the easiest start to the season for Unai Emery’s side, so perhaps that’s why deals like that have been put on hold.

Rogers himself has been one of a number of the club’s performers to be a little quieter than usual, so he might have to up his game again to get the kind of pay rise he wants.
Meanwhile, Chelsea could do well to keep close tabs on the situation as they could surely offer him more money if they did swoop in to sign him.
