Eddie Howe is planning to make Nick Woltemade a star at Newcastle United.
The 23-year-old has been brought in as Alexander Isak’s replacement, arriving during the summer transfer window for £69million.
He is now Newcastle’s most expensive signing, and enjoyed the perfect start to his Toon career on Saturday.
Nick Woltemade scored on his debut to give the Magpies victory over Wolves, silencing the critics with a blistering start to life in English football.
Eddie Howe will have been so pleased with Woltemade’s debut, but the best is certainly yet to come.

Nick Woltemade knows Eddie Howe can take him to the ‘next level’
That is the view of Woltemade, who has already made a prediction about his relationship with the Newcastle United manager so soon after arriving at St James’ Park.
During an appearance on Sky Sports’ One on One podcast, Woltemade was asked if he is excited about working with Howe, given his track record of improving players.
“That’s the point, why I wanted to go to Newcastle,” he said.

“I heard that a lot. The talks with him have been really good. Already from the first moment I felt like, okay, he can take me to the next level.
“It will be hard work for sure. But if we work together, I think this can be a really good match.”
Nick Woltemade copies Jacob Ramsey after Newcastle United’s summer recruitment drive
Woltemade was the Magpies’ biggest signing of the summer, with six senior players joining the Newcastle United squad.
Despite the Isak situation, it ended up being a wonderful transfer window. Howe’s squad is so much stronger, while he has players who are desperate to play for him and represent the club.
That is down to the club’s heritage, but it is also because of Howe’s ability as a manager. Woltemade said as much on the One on One podcast, and it was a similar reason that convinced Jacob Ramsey to join Newcastle.
Following his arrival from Aston Villa, Ramsey spoke about Howe’s ability to improve players amid his desire to represent England.
“I’m not an England international at the moment,” he said.
“But if you look at the squad, when players have joined the club they were not England internationals. The manager made them into much better players and they’ve gone on to play for their countries. That’s the main thing.
“How they develop players. Look at Anthony Gordon and Lewis Hall over the past two seasons. They’ve made massive progress.”
Howe’s track record speaks for itself, and it is great to see talented youngsters putting their future in his hands. They will not be let down, as long as they buy into his methods and put the work in.
