President reveals secret 10-game clause in Crystal Palace transfer – Money not arriving yet

Christantus Uche joined Crystal Palace on loan from Getafe on summer deadline day.

The La Liga club have confirmed the Eagles have a mandatory purchase option, without a mention or suggestion of any conditions needed to be met for it to be activated.

According to AS, Crystal Palace have to pay €19m to the La Liga club to make the striker’s stay permanent.

The new Crystal Palace signing left Getafe a year after joining him from lower division side AD Ceuta FC.

The report claim Ceuta, who secured promotion to the second division, are entitled to receive 12.5% of the profit from the Nigeria international’s sale, and it should be around €2m.

Ceuta president Luhay Hamido has now spoken about ‘the secret’ of the agreement between Getafe and the FA Cup winners for the 22-year-old’s loan transfer.

He’s been talking to Radio Televisión Ceuta’s Club Deportivo to explain that Uche will return to Getafe if a key condition isn’t fulfilled. AS have relayed his comments.

“Uche’s money hasn’t arrived yet. He has to play 10 games as a starter for the purchase to be completed; if not, he would return to Getafe,” he said.

“If he reaches that figure, the loan with an option to buy becomes mandatory, and the percentage would be counted against Chapter 1 of the salary cap. If it happens before the winter transfer window, we could use it.”

Hamido hasn’t specified whether those 10 starts are applicable for the Premier League or in all competitions.

Uche made two substitute appearances so far and Crystal Palace wouldn’t have to worry as he’s likely to start 10 matches this season.
