Peter Schmeichel says he's been trying to convince £30m Man City star to join Man Utd for 'more …

Peter Schmeichel has revealed that he has been trying to persuade one Manchester City player to sign for Manchester United for a long time now.

Unfortunately for the Danish legend, the player in question decided to make a move to the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester United’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City shows the gulf in class between the two sides, and the Red Devils are yet to finish above their local rivals in the Premier League since 2013.

Yet, City’s mortal enemies have managed to beat them to players from time to time.

One of them is Harry Maguire, who Pep Guardiola wanted to sign and was reportedly upset to see become a United player.

Peter Schmeichel tried his best to ensure the Sky Blues lose the chance to sign one of their primary transfer targets to Ruben Amorim’s side.
