£43m Man City star could join Juventus for absolutely nothing next summer

The summer transfer window has just closed, but Juventus have already started making plans to sign one of Manchester City’s players.

The latest window was a hectic one for Man City as several changes took place at the Etihad Stadium, with the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma making it seven new faces to become part of the Premier League giants.

The summer also saw several iconic figures depart the Manchester club, as Kevin De Bruyne ended his 10-year stay at City, Ilkay Gundogan joined his dream club in Galatasaray, while Ederson started a new chapter in his career at Fenerbahce.

During the summer of 2026, Man City could see another icon depart, and it is being reported that Juventus have already started making plans to sign the player.

Juventus are interested in signing Bernardo Silva for free

There has been a lot of talk around the future of Bernardo Silva for several summers, but the next one looks like the window in which the Portuguese star could leave Man City, as the midfielder is out of contract, and it does not look like he will be offered a new one.

Benfica showed interest in Silva this year, but the Portuguese giants never made a move for their former player, and that may leave the door open for Juventus to sign the 31-year-old ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

According to Tuttosport, Juventus have already started some discussions about future signings, particularly one related to their midfield and attacking midfield.

The report states that Silva is a top target for the Italian club, who believe the Portuguese star will not sign a new deal at the Etihad Stadium.

This would be a bargain deal for Juve, but only time will tell if they make an official move for the Man City star, as there is a long way to go before the next summer transfer window opens up.

Should Man City offer Bernardo Silva a new contract

Pep Guardiola appointed Silva as his captain for the current season, as the £43m Portuguese star impressed his boss with his commitment to the cause last season, especially during the winter months when the Manchester club were struggling.

The 31-year-old is certainly a leader and is a very useful figure to have around the squad; however, that should not warrant a new deal.

The Portugal international has shown signs of decline over recent months, and it has been proven that the veteran cannot do what he used to do on the field due to his body getting older.

The end of this season seems like the perfect time for Silva to leave Man City, and the club legend will be hoping to do so by lifting a trophy and getting a proper goodbye from the Etihad faithful.
