September 18 – Manchester City continue to push their brand around the world, announcing a new partnership with Highgate International School Thailand to launch the first Manchester City Football School in the country, opening in August 2026 at Highgate’s new campus in Chonburi.

The project combines Highgate’s centuries-old academic tradition with City’s coaching methodology, embedding a certified Manchester City coach into the school’s sports curriculum.

The club is intent on turning football education into a global export, using academies and partnerships to sell the name Manchester City. From projects in Abu Dhabi to academies in China and the United States, City Football Group have built a web that not only seeks to develop and sell top talent but also grow commercial value and global loyalty.

The model mirrors moves by their European rivals in the same space, such as Paris Saint-Germain’s academy in Florida, Barcelona’s worldwide “Barça Academy” network, and Juventus’ schools across Asia and the Middle East.

“We want to inspire students to reach their full potential both on and off the pitch,” said Jorgina Busquets, City Football Group’s Managing Director of Football Education.

Ben Keeling, Founding Head of Highgate Thailand, added: “This partnership reflects our commitment to nurturing academic and personal growth through sport.”
