Contact expected for Manchester City player – Transfer battle on horizon

Bernardo Silva has now spent over eight years at Manchester City and with the Portuguese midfielder’s contract running out in the summer of 2026, Juventus are lining up a move for him.

TuttoSport report today that the Old Lady want to replicate what rivals Napoli have done with the signing of Kevin De Bruyne earlier this summer.

The Belgian has already made a mark in Naples and Juve believe that bringing Bernardo Silva on a free transfer will help bolster their midfield.

The Old Lady want to beat competition for the Manchester City player early similar to how Napoli operated in a move for De Bruyne. That is why the newspaper expect Juve to make initial contact with the Portugal international soon.

They believe the 31-year-old will start to consider his options in spring next year and his next destination depends on the hunger he has left for the game.

Juve are hoping that he is willing to play at the highest level as they can easily find a major role for him in their squad.

It is easy to say that Bernardo Silva is still very effective as a player, having played four times in the Premier League this season. He is also expected to feature for Manchester City against Napoli on Thursday as De Bruyne will return to the Etihad Stadium for the first time since his exit in the summer.

Juventus’ big problem, though, is likely to be a near expected move to Benfica instead.
