Leeds United star has been sent a ‘warning’ over Premier League official

Leeds United winger Dan James was taken off after just 12 minutes in the loss to Fulham last weekend. After the game, Daniel Farke revealed that he had problems since the international break which is why he did not start the game.

Leeds lacked his speed and directness on Saturday as the fielded a static attacking trio of Noah Okafor, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Brenden Aaronson. Aaronson failed to impress on his first start and Calvert-Lewin missed a big chance in the first half. Okafor is the only Leeds attacker who left the Fulham game with any plaudits.

It remains whether the Welshman will be declared fully fit for this weekend’s game, but he could have something different to worry about. Former PGMOL Chief Keith Hackett has told James to be careful when crossing paths with Anthony Taylor. Taylor booked the winger for simulation back in 2020, which left then Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fuming:

“I do hope that he remembers that and stays on his feet.” he told MOT Leeds News.

“Frankly, Referee Taylor in the last four years has regularly had 30-plus games in the Premier League and has been regularly appointed to top European and World Cup qualifiers. He will, I am sure, have forgotten in that time who he carded during games.

“However, when he is out in the middle, players need to be on their best behaviour.

“One downside to Taylor is that he has, in the past, produced cards like confetti if he feels that the game needs him to clamp down, so players should beware.”

Will the Leeds United man play vs Wolves?

Daniel Farke’s last update on Dan James was that it was a bit of a blow to the body, and not a serious injury.

”Unlucky he got a hit into his body and we were forced to substitute him off. Very unlucky development and I hope it’s not too bad. I hope it’s nothing major so he’s available pretty soon.”

Thursday’s press conference will give definitive information on his availability for the game.
