West Ham Exclusive | Top Source Rubbishes Potter Replacement Claims

The West Ham news grapevine has been buzzing this morning with revelations that former Hammers boss Slaven Bilic could be in line to replace Graham Potter.

The West Ham manager is under severe pressure and could find himself sacked if the team lose to [Crystal Palace](https://www.claretandhugh.info/crystal-palace-bio/) at the London Stadium on Saturday.

Bilic has been named as one of three potential candidates for the job, alongside Nuno Espirito Santo and Sean Dyche. But when [Claret & Hugh](https://www.claretandhugh.info/category/news/) asked a top transfer source about the Dyche rumours, we were told: “Definitely not, no chance.”

This followed a conversation where the same source said: “Why would Espirito Santo want to join West Ham? He won’t be short of offers.”

The source also dismissed recent links with Kieran McKenna and Frank Lampard but did confirm that West Ham have “had conversations” about replacing Potter.

Which makes it all the more bewildering that the current Hammers boss featured so prominently in West Ham’s open statement to fans yesterday. The 1,000-plus word message seemed oblivious to both the club’s and the manager’s current plight – a situation where defeat to Palace could leave West Ham rock bottom of the Premier League.
