The name in question is none other than Rodrygo, who Bernardo inadvertently praised by telling saying: “Liverpool, Salah, Madrid with Vinicius and Rodrygo.”

Manchester City were ready to sign Rodrygo for £87 million but ultimately, the move did not come to fruition.

Bernardo added: “[Toughest team to face] In the Champions League, it’s Madrid and in the Premier League it’s Liverpool.”

Rodrygo confirms his future amid Man City links

It looks like Manchester City remain keen on signing Rodrygo in January.

However, Manchester City decided not to sell Savinho.

After Real Madrid beat Marseille 2-1 on Tuesday, Rodrygo confirmed he never had any intention of departing the Spanish capital.

The Brazilian said via ESPN Brazil: “I’m used to it; every year they say I’m leaving. During the transfer window, every week I was on a different team. I even joked with my parents and friends: ‘Look, today I’m on this one, tomorrow I’m on that one.’ Every week I was on a different team, but, as I said, I was very calm mentally and it didn’t affect me at all.”

Rodrygo concluded by confirming he is happy at Real Madrid: “I continued enjoying my vacation, training because I knew this was where I would continue. Well, in the end, I’m still at home, in the place I always dreamed of being. I’ll continue giving my all every day I wear this shirt.”
