Daniel Farke confirms one player will be in the lineup against Wolves

Daniel Farke will have to be at his best when Leeds United take on Wolves this weekend. Many fans will be expecting a result after what happened in the Fulham game last weekend.

The Whites will be facing Vitor Pereira’s side who are yet to put points on the board in the league this season. However, Leeds will be away from home and their form on the road has not been promising this season. Goalscoring is also a major problem at the club; they have only scored one goal from open play in five games so far.

In the press-conference on Thursday, Daniel Farke confirmed that Lucas Perri will once again miss the game due to injury. He added that the club will know the next update on the Brazilian next week. In the meantime, Karl Darlow will continue his place in goal for the Wolves game.

“Middle of next week we will have a clearer picture of Perri’s return timeline. Missing this weekend, as I said. Karl will play.”

After how well Darlow performed against Fulham, Leeds fans will not have any qualms with him keeping his role in the team.

Welshman had a spectacular performance vs Fulham

Daniel Farke mentioned that Karl Darlow was a standout performer in the last game against Fulham. He also backed the Welshman and said that he has a lot of confidence in him to backup Lucas Perri:

“We are all happy that we have Karl because he’s an experienced guy. He’s so mature. Also, today, there were not too many saves to make, but when we needed him, he was there. He has good experience and is always positive.

“He’s a guy who never cracks under pressure, and I’m pretty happy that we have such a mature and rock-solid goalkeeper who can step in when our number one, Lucas Perri, is out.

“It gives [Perri] also a bit more time, not to go on holiday, but it’s not like we have to push him and play him even though the injury is not fully recovered. So, we are all happy, and as long as we need Karl, I know he will perform really, really solidly.”
