Leeds United boss remains silent over calls for Harry Gray to come into the first team

This week, a Leeds United player scored a hattrick which caused fans to demand for his place in the first team for the upcoming games. Harry Gray found the back of the net three times in the National League Cup game against Scunthorpe United.

This came after a poor performance from the front three against Fulham. Leeds have scored just one goal from open play this season, and this has shown in the games so far. The Whites do not seem to create much, making it hard for them to get goals.

Daniel Farke even said after the game that the quality at the club in attack is not the best. He tried a new front three of Brenden Aaronson, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor against Fulham, but it did not go as planned.

”Said everything I have to say about Harry. I won’t speak again until we see him on the grass and nothing has changed.”

The German has some decisions to make in attack, after news that Wilfried Gnonto could miss this weekend’s game alongside Dan James.

What Harry Gray has said this week

After the teenager helped Leeds U21s win midweek, his focus seems to be solely on what his side can achieve in the coming months. He did not address any words about him being in the first team in the future.

“I’m happy with the three goals, but I should have had more to be fair. Two chances I missed, so I can always improve,” Gray said to LUTV.

“It was good to have different types of goals you can score too, it makes your game unpredictable. So yeah, it was important to score, but goals are goals at the end of the day, I don’t care how I score them as long as we win.

“[Winning] was definitely important tonight, because we’ve had some decent performances against professional first teams and had nothing really to show for it.”

Unless something drastic changes, the youngster will not be on the bench for the game against Wolves.
