Team News | Wilson, Füllkrug and Magassa vying for starts

**Callum Wilson**, **Niclas Füllkrug** and **Soungoutou Magassa** are vying for starts in West Ham United’s Premier League derby with Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Centre-forwards Wilson and Füllkrug have been in full training this week and are hoping to be in Head Coach Graham Potter’s starting XI at London Stadium, having both been on the substitutes’ bench at home to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

French midfielder Magassa, meanwhile, could be in line to replace the suspended Tomáš Souček after making his Hammers debut as a second-half replacement against Spurs.

Alongside Souček, one other player who will not be facing the Eagles is DR Congo international **Aaron Wan-Bissaka**, who will be sidelined for the second weekend in succession.

“I think Aaron Wan-Bissaka will still be unavailable, it’s just a problem with his stomach,” Potter revealed in his pre-match press conference. “Hopefully he’ll be light training tomorrow or the weekend, but he won’t be available for the game.

“Apart from that, Callum’s had a full week’s training, so it’s good for him, so has Nicolas, so we’re pretty much as we were.”

Potter was also asked for his thoughts on 22-year-old midfielder **Freddie Potts**, who made his Premier League debut in the home fixture with Chelsea in August, having excelled on loan at Wycombe Wanderers and Portsmouth in previous seasons and featured often in pre-season.

“Freddie’s had a really positive journey so far with the Academy, with the loans, and it’s his first season back with us, in terms of with the first team,” Potter explained. “In pre-season, I think he did well. He’s someone that we know his qualities.  I think he has to work hard with the team, with the players, and wait for his opportunity.

“The Premier League is a competitive league, so as much as we want to integrate young players, we do. When you look at my previous records, it’s something I’m very proud of. But at the same time, you have to do it at the right time for the Club, for the team and for the individual.

“Freddie’s done well and we’ll continue to work with him. That’s where he’s at.”

Potter's starting XI will be confirmed 75 minutes ahead of Saturday's 3pm kick-off here on whufc.com and our official app!
