West Ham are drawing up a list of alternative bosses should they part way with Graham Potter, with ExWHUEmployee providing an update.
It has been a dreadful start to the season, which again has thrown the club under the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, with Graham Potter under considerable pressure to turn the situation around.
Despite having a relatively positive pre-season, West Ham’s form has returned to where it has been for some time, with the club once again staring a relegation battle in the face unless the situation shifts dramatically.
The 3-0 home loss to rivals Spurs at the weekend has cast further doubt on Potter, with the club understood to now been looking at alternative options, should they make the call to sack the former Brighton & Chelsea boss.
Reporting on The West Ham Way Patreon, our club insider ExWHUEmployee has advised that it appears the Everton away could be a significant game for Potter and his future, unless of course form improves very quickly.
Ex has advised that the club are drawing up a list of alternatives managers, with former boss and player Slaven Bilic said to be on that list and eager to return to the club he holds close to his heart.
“Whilst it was confirmed to us that Potter has the backing from the board at the moment, alternatives are being lined up just in case,” stated Ex.
“We don’t believe Potter has been given any deadlines but a couple more bad defeats in the coming weeks, ironically with David Moyes’ Everton still to play could seal his fate.
“We listed what some of these alternative managers were on the podcast this week but a new manager who has come back into the mix isn’t new to West Ham fans and that is Slaven Bilic. We have a good relationship with both Slaven’s agent and the man himself. We put the question to the agent and have been told that he is a contender IF Potter is sacked and he would love a return to his spiritual home.
“It would then be up to Bilic to convince the board that he is the man to turn the club around again ahead of some of the other targets. We will keep you posted when we get more on this.”
