We Are Palace can now provide an exclusive update on the contract situation involving Oliver Glasner at Crystal Palace.
The 51-year-old will leave Selhurst Park in July 2026, as things stand, after entering the final 12 months of the deal he signed back in February 2024 when replacing Roy Hodgson.
We Are Palace can now share information from sources who believe Crystal Palace hope to have Oliver Glasner tied down to fresh terms before the start of January.
Exclusive: Matt Hobbs aiming for Oliver Glasner agreement by January
Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent for We Are Palace – can confirm that Matt Hobbs is targeting an agreement with the Austrian before January begins.
Hobbs is understood to have already started work at Crystal Palace after Steve Parish opted to hire the 45-year-old as a replacement for Dougie Freedman, who left for Saudi Arabia in March.
The Englishman left the same role at Wolves back in June by mutual consent.
We Are Palace understand Glasner is currently very happy at Crystal Palace, but is not believed to be in any rush to sign a new contract, and wants assurances that his ambitions will be matched by those in the boardroom.
Talks are continuing between the Eagles and the man born in Salzburg, who currently has Crystal Palace on a club-record unbeaten run of 16 games.

Other tasks for Matt Hobbs to address
There are other contract situations for Hobbs to pay attention to besides Glasner – who Simon Jordan feels Steve Cooper could replace next year.
Daichi Kamada – who impressed against Millwall – also becomes a free agent in July 2026, as does Jefferson Lerma, both of whom are important players.
However, Crystal Palace are believed to have an option to extend the Colombia international’s contract by a further 12 months thanks to a clause.
Marc Guehi also becomes a free agent, but that is a situation Hobbs will have to accept as the England international plans to leave for a European giant – Liverpool remain keen, but face competition from Manchester City and Real Madrid.
Nathaniel Clyne and Naouirou Ahamada also see their contracts expire in July 2026.
