Nottingham Forest legend Des Walker spent 11 years at the club across two different spells, and has quite a lot of experience with the Tricky Trees faithful.
Des Walker knows what it takes to be a success at Forest, having won multiple trophies throughout his time at the City Ground.
Ange Postecoglou will be hoping to repeat the feats of Walker’s era, but after exiting the Carabao Cup to Swansea City, that could become much harder.

Des Walker says Nottingham Forest fans are the best in the Premier League
Former Nottingham Forest defender Des Walker has claimed Forest fans are the best in the Premier League due to the success they have been having.
Last season, Nuno Espirito Santo guided them back into Europe, followed by two seasons of surviving relegation.
Speaking on The Overlap podcast, he said, “We all know as tough as you are, at Forest, when the crowd is negative, they are poor, and that has been over the last 20 years I have seen.
“The crowd have probably been the best crowd in the last three years in the division, in the Premier League. I have never seen Forest fans like it.”
MORE FOREST STORIES
There are many expectations about what success would look like this season for Forest, and Evangelos Marinakis brought Postecoglou in due to his history of winning trophies.
Although they may have slumped out of the Carabao Cup, those high expectations will remain for this season.
These are no doubt exciting times for Nottingham Forest fans, but that very same excitement could be bad news for Ange Postecoglou according to Walker.
Des Walker believes Ange Postecoglou won’t be given time at Nottingham Forest
Des Walker also thinks that Ange Postecoglou will not be given enough time at Nottingham Forest in order to become a success due to the fans.
There is a major adjustment at Nottingham Forest as Ange Postecoglou’s style has completely different principles to Nuno Espirito Santo’s.
But Walker says he won’t be given the time to adjust due to fans expecting Forest to outperform last season.

The former Forest defender said, “At the moment, the momentum is with the whole football club, and it is going [up]. And now if it plateaus, that’s not good enough. Every manager needs time to adjust, I don’t think he’ll get time.”
Nottingham Forest are now only competing in three competitions, but the Garibaldi are one of the favourites for the Europa League.
It is a competition Postecoglou knows quite well, and he’ll be hoping to have back-to-back success in it. If he can deliver silverware to the City Ground, then there is no doubt the Australian will be given plenty of time at the club.
