Another glimpse of Kostoulas - so when will he need his lucky underwear in Prem?

But we were treated to another glimpse of his footballing magic via the [Albion](https://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/albion/) website this week.

This time it was a nutmeg in a training session as the squad worked hard at Lancing.

A week earlier, they used a clip of a brilliant dipping finish he produced during a session.

None of that has been enough to force him into a Premier League 20 for which competition is pretty hot now.

There was a presence from the summer signings at Bournemouth last week as Stefanos Tzimas and Tommy Watson made the bench.

Tzimas went on for the salvage operation at 2-1 down and put himself about without getting a chance to score.

Kostoulas spoke this week about settling in and passing his driving test.

He also talked in a question and answer session about finding himself some underwear.

Apparently he has left his lucky under garment, whatever that is, back in Greece.

As he spoke ahead of the Bournemouth trip, Fabian Hurzeler gave indications as to where the former Olympiacos man stands as he targets the first team.

Hurzeler said: “It was an unbelievable goal we saw in his training session, so that's what I always said, he has unbelievable potential.

“But now it's about us to give him the time that he can do these things consistently.

“Seeing it one time is not good enough, we have to see it two, three, four, five times.

“It doesn't mean that I expect from him always these kind of goals, so don't understand it wrong.

“I expect from him that he's working hard every training session, that he shows the best reaction every training session, that he adapts more and more to the intensity of the Premier League, and there we are still not where we want to have him.

“But we are getting closer, we saw a really good training week from him, so that's what I meant before, that we could use this training week very effectively to work with these guys on their intensity, on their shape, on their physicality.

“We could also use this week as an advantage, and he's now closer to the team, but not there where we want him to be.”

That was before the Bournemouth trip.

The clips we have seen show him putting in the work again this week.

There will be some interest over how the Albion attacking unit line up against Spurs this Saturday although the selection on the wings looks straightforward.

Tottenham have been breached just once in league and cup so far this season, by Bournemouth.

But there is some hope from the stats.

Their Expected Goals against is 4.70 so it suggests there have been decent chances created against them.

That figure is for the Prem. Villarreal had a couple of decent openings, too, as they lost 1-0 in North London in the Champions League.

Diego Gomez was not involved at Bournemouth after his demanding international window, be it in terms of minutes played, intensity of matches and travel.

It was possibly also an emotionally draining window as he helped Paraguay to the World Cup finals.

The No.10 berth and midfield look the places up for grabs against Spurs, as well as spots on the bench.

Unless there are injuries we do not yet know about, which CAN happen, it is hard to see Kostoulas making the matchday 20 on Saturday.

Then comes Barnsley on Tuesday. While Albion are ambitious to win a trophy – which means the Carabao Cup is not just about gift-wrapping minutes – the trip to Oakwell will be a chance for Kostoulas and Tzimas to show their magic.

For now, we are getting glimpses and Kostoulas seems to be enjoying the process.

He just needs to keep working – and to do some shopping.
