Arsenal scouts are sending back “positive reports” on Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume, according to reports in the Spanish media.
Vamos Mi Sevilla claim that the Gunners are one of “two big clubs” who are keeping tabs on the Frenchman’s progress.

Agoume has been linked with a move to the Emirates before, with the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham having also been credited with an interest in the player.
However, it is believed that Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund are the Gunners’ main rivals at the moment, with Vamos Mi Sevilla reporting there is potential for either team to make a move for the 23-year-old in a “future” transfer window.
Agoume has been compared to a legendary Chelsea player
The midfielder’s ability to cover ground has led some in the media to label him “Kante 2.0”. The former France international won the Premier League and Champions League with Chelsea, as well as the World Cup in 2018.
It is up for debate whether Agoume would live up to those lofty comparisons, but he is clearly a player who works hard in the middle of the park.
Do Arsenal need to strengthen in midfield?
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is not exactly short of midfielders at the moment. Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard were both brought in this summer following the departures of Jorginho and Thomas Partey.
However, Norgaard is a short-term solution. The former Brentford captain is 31 years of age, and he has had trouble staying fit in the opening weeks of the campaign.
If he does not contribute much this season, there could be a case for replacing him already, and Agoume seems to be one of the options under consideration. Based on this report, the club’s scouts really like the look of him.
