The Club World Cup in the summer was rather fruitful for Real Madrid. They didn't win the competition, or even get as far as they would've liked, but the experience benefitted Real Madrid nevertheless.
Real Madrid saw some new players arrive in the summer transfer window, alongside new manager Xabi Alonso. Therefore, the new players needed to be integrated immediately. That was allowed to happen, thanks to the Club World Cup.
One player who exceeded all expectations was current Real Madrid player Gonzalo García. In the absence of Kylian Mbappé, García took advantage of the opportunity and put his name forward early doors under Xabi Alonso.
So much so, García was allowed to stay at Real Madrid and fight for his place this season. So far, it's been underwhelming for the Castilla product. He has made only one start, at the weekend against Espanyol. He wasn't given any minutes in midweek against Levante.
Obviously, García plays in a position that's rather heated for Real Madrid. The center forward slot is understandably taken by Kylian Mbappé, and nobody is changing that anytime soon.
Real Madrid could send Gonzalo García out on loan in January
According to a report from Fichajes, Gonzalo García could be allowed to leave Real Madrid on loan in the quest for playing time in January. He will be allowed to join a mid-table Liga side or even move abroad to register more minutes for his development. It is believed that Real Madrid is already considering some options for him.
It wouldn't come as a massive surprise if García were sent out on loan. It was bound to happen, given how the start to the season has gone. Let's not forget that Endrick recently returned from injury, so he's also in line for more minutes, which leaves García in a worse position.
If the Club World Cup taught Real Madrid anything, it's that García can be a star under Xabi Alonso. This was proven by giving him a Liga start recently, and it shows that Alonso isn't giving up on him anytime soon.
It would be the most amicable decision imaginable if García were to leave on loan in January. Real Madrid wouldn't be closing the door on him, in fact, it would be quite the opposite.
Of course, everybody at Real Madrid would hope that García goes out and shines on loan, giving Xabi Alonso an even bigger selection headache when he returns. Managers like those kind of headaches.
