Inter Miami face the challenge of convincing Gilberto Mora to make the switch to MLS in light of huge interest from across the Atlantic.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Gilberto Mora continues to attract the biggest football clubs towards his signature. Inter Miami are the latest to enter the race, as David Beckham & Co. are hopeful of convincing the teenager to make the switch to the MLS despite other interested parties like Arsenal, Manchester United, and Real Madrid.
The forthcoming Under-20 World Cup in Chile will be the place where scouts from many top clubs will be camping, with some of those taking a close look at a particular player from Mexico. 16-year-old Mexican prodigy Gilberto Mora is the star in focus during the event next month, as he has been garnering rave reviews for his performances for Club Tijuana.
Already a first-team regular, Mora made his debut just ten days after his 15th birthday. The youngster has nearly 50 appearances to his name at Club Tijuana, including 20 in the top division. It’s proved rather difficult for the Mexican side to keep him out of the sights of top teams across Europe, as there’s big interest in his signature from across the Atlantic.
Barcelona are one of those interested, while there is reported interest from Arsenal, Manchester United and Real Madrid in the 16-year-old Mexican prodigy. Those European sides are always on the lookout for young talents, and in Gilberto Mora’s case, he is already someone they might consider ready for first-team action.
Mora is 16, and FIFA does not allow players to leave for another country until they are 18, meaning the 16-year-old Mexican prodigy has more than enough time to make his choices. He is one of those rare players who will have a choice of clubs to pick from when the time comes to leave Club Tijuana, as he could only move out in January 2027 at the earliest.
Inter Miami are interested in Gilberto Mora
Inter Miami are the latest to enter the race to sign Mora, with David Beckham & Co. likely to take their chances in convincing the 16-year-old Mexican prodigy to make the switch to MLS. It will be a difficult challenge, especially considering Arsenal, Manchester United, and Real Madrid could pose a considerable threat to their ambition with the teenager, as MLS might seem underwhelming compared to Europe.
Gilberto Mora does not seem to be in a hurry to decide his future just yet, as he remains focused on the forthcoming Under-20 World Cup and then the big one in his home country next year. Hence, he will want to improve his performance and make the Mexican squad for the FIFA World Cup next year. Mora might decide his next steps after the grand event next year, as there will be some of the biggest clubs around for his signature.
