Real Madrid will compete with Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur to sign 32-year-old English striker Harry Kane from Bayern Munich next summer.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Harry Kane is the subject of interest of Real Madrid over a move next summer. Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur are also keen on signing the Bayern Munich striker. Meanwhile, the English international will be available for less than £60 million next year.
Harry Kane and his impact at Bayern Munich
Harry Kane has continued to assert himself as one of the best players in the world since joining Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in a big-money move in August 2023. The 32-year-old has also ended his trophy hoodoo, with Die Roten winning the Bundesliga title in the 2024/25 season.
The English striker has taken his output to a meteoric level in the last two years, and he has been hot off the blocks this season. The veteran centre-forward has amassed 13 goals and three assists in only seven appearances thus far. However, Kane’s long-term future at the Allianz Arena is uncertain due to a release clause worth less than £60 million, and the situation has alerted several high-profile clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, and Real Madrid.
A man in demand
It is hardly surprising that a player of Harry Kane’s quality is on Chelsea’s radar. The Blues seldom let go of any market opportunity, and the Bayern Munich striker is no different. The Englishman can be a transformational signing for Chelsea, as he is better than Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.
Meanwhile, Harry Kane has been on Manchester United’s radar for a long time, and the Red Devils mulled over securing his services before they signed Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta. The continued interest is understandable, even though Benjamin Sesko joined Manchester United this past summer. Kane is a market opportunity worth considering, and he can be a short-term solution in the final third.
As for Tottenham Hotspur, Dominic Solanke struggled in his debut season with the North London club, and Thomas Frank can do with an alternative to the English international, considering Randal Kolo Muani may not complete a permanent move next year. So, Kane is a viable target for Tottenham, although the Lilywhites face stiff competition from Real Madrid.
While the Merengues do not usually dip into the market for players aged over 30, they can make an exception for Kane, considering he is arguably the best striker in the world. Barcelona succeeded with that thought process when they signed Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich.
So, with Kane having a release clause worth less than £60 million in his contract with Bayern Munich, he is an attractive target for Real Madrid. It will be interesting to see if the 32-year-old Englishman returns to the Premier League by joining Chelsea, Manchester United, or Tottenham, or if Real Madrid can beat them.
