Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi reportedly remains keen to join Liverpool following a failed deadline day move. The centre-back saw a late move to Anfield fall through on deadline day after Palace pulled the plug.

Guehi has since returned to action for the Eagles, wearing the captain’s armband as usual. He is expected to captain Palace when Liverpool visit Selhurst Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon (3pm kick-off).

The defender has less than a year remaining on his contract with the club and is not expected to sign a new deal. It therefore means that he will either be sold in January or leave Palace on a free transfer next summer.

According to GIVEMESPORT, Guehi is still 'very willing' to join Liverpool, however, it is claimed that the club will make a move for him in January and will instead look to sign him on a free transfer next summer.

The latest updates come amid talk that Guehi has his eyes set on a move to Real Madrid. It was reported last week that the centre-back had told his advisors that he has his heart set on a move to the Bernabeu.

While it has also been claimed that Reds defender Ibrahima Konate is a priority target for Real Madrid this summer.

Like Guehi, the centre-back is out of contract in the summer, meaning that Real could agree a pre-contract in January.
