Now, Mick Brown believes Spurs will aim to line up a new contract for Van de Ven to avoid losing him to Real Madrid next summer. Speaking to Football Insider, Brown revealed,
“Tottenham want Van de Ven to commit his future to the club. They want to put an end to the speculation and any interest from clubs like Real Madrid and the others who have been linked over the summer. He’s been brilliant since he went to Tottenham and everybody there seems to love him.”
The ex-scout also admitted,
“The way he plays is perfect for the way Frank wants his team to play, and there’s no way the manager will want to lose one of his most important players. I can’t see any situation in which Tottenham would want to lose him, to be honest. So from their point of view, it makes sense that they want to get him tied down to a new contract, and I think they’re pretty confident they can get it done.”
According to Mick Brown, Tottenham have no intention of losing Micky van de Ven and are ready to offer him a new contract before the Dutchman starts considering other options. The ex-scout believes the 24-year-old is perfectly suited to Frank’s tactical set-up, making his departure highly unlikely.
